Although the majority of the graduates we place in the Ground Investigation sector have studied Geology related courses, approximately 30% have degrees in Environmental Science, Environmental Geoscience, Earth Science, Physical Geography & Geography and many variations of all.
If you are studying Geology or a Geology related degree, then you will almost certainly be studying the right modules and completing the right projects to align your skills well with the GI sector.
If you are not studying Geology and develop a love for the Geo-disciplines and want to develop a career in the Ground Investigation sector, then try to choose relevant modules during your 2nd and 3rd year or a project that is relevant.
Not only will this indicate to the hiring managers that you have the right skills, but also that you are really interested in the sector.
Modules that our employer clients like to see include:
- Engineering Geology
- Geo-Environmental Issues
- Contaminated Land
- Environmental Hazards
