Master’s vs. Bachelor’s Degrees
Based on Penguin Recruitment’s Geo-Graduate Salary Analysis
Master’s graduates do earn more than those with a Bachelor’s degree, but the difference is minor— our data shows an increased salary of just £198 per annum for those with a Master’s.
So, while a Master’s degree may well increase your chances of landing an interview and is often included in job adverts as desirable, it has little impact on salary. Interestingly, we found that choosing the ‘wrong’ Master’s topic could even negatively affect your hiring outcome.
Of course, money isn’t the only motivator when it comes to education choices, but we thought that this finding was interesting nonetheless!
