Senior Town Planner
Location: Cambridge
Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a well-established, multi-disciplinary property consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in Cambridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take the next step in their career within a respected consultancy environment, working across a varied portfolio of projects including residential, rural, commercial, and strategic land developments.
You will play a key role in managing planning applications from inception through to determination, providing clear and commercially focused planning advice to a wide range of clients including landowners, developers, and private individuals.
The Role

Managing a range of planning applications and appeals

Preparing planning appraisals and development strategies

Undertaking detailed planning policy analysis

Preparing Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements, and supporting documentation
-
Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and stakeholders

Attending site visits, client meetings, and planning committees where required

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
Requirements
-
RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
-
MRTPI qualified (or working towards Chartership)
-
Previous experience within a private consultancy or local authority environment

Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and development management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
