Penguin Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading environmental and acoustic consultancy in their search for a Senior Acoustic Consultant. This is your opportunity to lead impactful, multi-sector projects and help drive the next generation of acoustic design and delivery.
The Role
As Senior Acoustic Consultant, you’ll take ownership of complex projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, residential, commercial, and performing arts. You’ll combine technical precision with creative thinking to deliver robust, sustainable acoustic solutions – while helping shape the tools, processes, and people that define the practice.
What You’ll Do

Lead and manage building acoustics projects from concept to completion

Deliver high-quality acoustic designs compliant with current standards

Communicate complex findings clearly to clients and stakeholders

Undertake on-site testing (sound insulation, vibration, etc.)

Use tools including CATT, Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A, Revit, and related software

Collaborate across disciplines, integrating acoustics into wider design and BIM workflows

Mentor and support junior consultants, fostering growth and excellence
About You
Essential:
-
Proven experience delivering building acoustics projects
-
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Practical knowledge of sound insulation and construction acoustics

Proficiency with CATT, Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A, Revit

Collaborative mindset and people-first approach
Desirable:

Background in environmental acoustics

Interest in sustainable or low-carbon design
