Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 + Excellent Benefits

A market-leading environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Air Quality Consultant to strengthen its London team. This is a senior, client-facing role offering the chance to lead flagship projects, shape technical strategy and develop people – all within a flexible hybrid working culture.

The Role

You will lead the scoping and delivery of complex air quality assessments across transport, infrastructure and urban development. The role combines hands-on technical leadership (modelling, reporting and compliance) with team management, client engagement and input to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary air quality projects end-to-end

  • Provide technical direction on dispersion modelling (ADMS/AERMOD) and EIA chapters

  • Own key client relationships and support business development activity

  • Coach, mentor and develop junior consultants

  • Liaise with regulators, local authorities and stakeholders to secure approvals

  • Contribute to service development and strategic growth in London

About You

  • 6+ years’ experience in air quality consulting or regulatory practice

  • Strong working knowledge of ADMS, AERMOD and IAQM/EPUK guidance

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography or similar

  • Chartered (CEnv/IAQM) or on chartership pathway (desirable)

  • Proven leadership, client management and project delivery skills

  • Full UK driving licence
