The Opportunity
An established and fast-growing planning and environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Town Planner to join its team in Colchester.

This independent consultancy provides specialist planning, heritage and environmental services to a diverse client base across the UK. Known for its technical expertise and commercially focused advice, the business works on a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, infrastructure and rural developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career within a supportive and collaborative environment, gaining exposure to high-quality projects and experienced professionals.

The Role
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will support senior team members on a variety of planning projects while developing your technical knowledge and professional skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
  • Undertaking site appraisals and planning policy research
  • Supporting the preparation of planning statements and reports
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities and external consultants
  • Contributing to project delivery across a range of sectors

About You

  • RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in the UK planning system and development sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
