Penguin Recruitment is working with an employee-owned environmental consultancy seeking a senior Associate Air Quality Consultant to strengthen its Manchester team.

This is a high-impact leadership role suited to an experienced consultant who wants meaningful input into projects, people development, and long-term regional strategy.

You’ll join a progressive consultancy delivering technically challenging work across planning, transport, odour, and indoor air quality, with the freedom to influence both project delivery and business growth.

The role

As a senior Associate in Manchester, you’ll balance technical leadership with team and client responsibility. Key duties include:

  • Managing complex air quality projects across diverse sectors

  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions

  • Supporting client relationships and expanding regional presence

  • Coaching and developing junior consultants

  • Contributing to company strategy within an employee-owned model

About you

You will have:

  • 12+ years’ experience in air quality consultancy

  • Strong expertise in assessments and modelling

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience

  • Confidence in client management and stakeholder engagement

  • Commercial awareness and a solutions-focused approach
