Job Title: Associate Town Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for an Associate Town Planner to join their team in Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Associate Town Planner to step into a key strategic role within the business. The position will play a crucial part in driving the team forward, with a strong emphasis on business development, client generation, and securing new opportunities across a varied project portfolio.


THE ROLE

As an Associate Town Planner, you will take a leading role in both project delivery and the growth of the business.

A core focus of this position will be on winning work, developing client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. Alongside this, you will oversee planning projects and provide strategic input across a range of developments, establishing yourself as a key figure within the team as an Associate Town Planner.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Leading on business development activities and generating new work
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
* Identifying and securing new project opportunities
* Managing and overseeing planning applications and projects
* Providing strategic planning advice to clients
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
* Contributing to the overall growth and direction of the business


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
* MRTPI qualified
* Significant experience within a planning consultancy environment
* Proven track record in business development and winning work
* Strong commercial awareness and networking ability
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills
* Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and develop others
* A proactive, driven, and ambitious mindset
