Town Planner
Location: Cheltenham
Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected property developer, in their search for a Town Planner. The successful candidate will be working on a diverse portfolio of residential, employment, and mixed-use schemes across the region. The role offers the chance to work client-side, taking projects through the planning process from early site appraisal to securing planning consent and supporting delivery.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will be involved in a wide range of planning activities, including:

Managing and supporting planning applications, pre-applications, and appeals

Undertaking site appraisals and providing planning advice on development opportunities

Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders

Monitoring Local Plan policy and contributing to representations and promotions

Supporting land promotion and development strategy

Preparing clear, robust planning reports and recommendations
About You
The ideal Town Planner will have:

A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline

Experience within a consultancy, local authority, or in-house development role

A strong understanding of the UK planning system and development management
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
The ability to manage multiple projects and work proactively
-
RTPI membership or progress toward chartership
