Senior Town Planner

The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will take responsibility for leading and delivering planning projects across a wide range of sectors, with a strong commercial focus. You will work directly with clients, manage applications from inception through to decision, and support junior team members while contributing to wider business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, managing, and submitting planning applications, appeals, and planning statements

  • Leading site appraisals, policy reviews, and feasibility assessments

  • Providing commercially astute planning advice to clients

  • Managing and developing client relationships

  • Coordinating with local authorities, stakeholders, and external consultants

  • Supporting the mentoring and development of junior planners

  • Contributing to the delivery of high-quality planning solutions across multiple sectors

About You
We are looking for a confident and commercially aware Senior Town Planner who can work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.

Requirements:

  • RTPI-accredited degree and MRTPI status (or close to submission)

  • 3-5 years’ experience within planning consultancy or a commercially focused planning role

  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities

  • Full UK driving licence preferred
