My client, a sustainably-minded, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join their growing team of expert design engineers, in the scenic, northern Cathedral City of York, North Yorkshire.
Essential Criteria:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant discipline
- Extensive experience of working with flood risk and drainage strategies
- Demonstrable experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Excellent working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (e.g., S104, S106, etc.)
- Knowledge of the relevant software packages, including InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of working closely with a diverse team, providing leadership and mentorship
- Demonstrable experience of developing and managing stakeholder relations
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to have the following:
- Experience of having managed teams or projects
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant 3D design software
- Good time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
In your exciting new role of Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer, you will be joining a team of highly experienced design engineers, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across the region. Progressing through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:
- Leading a team in producing a broad range of projects, developing flood risk and drainage strategies
- Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest of standards, within the given timeframes and designated budgets
- Undertaking the relevant technical analysis using software packages
- Reviewing and approving accurate technical information regarding projects, including calculations, drawings, and models
- Liaising with a range of public and private stakeholders, and managing relationships with them
- Undertaking site meetings and inspections
- Developing and maintaining client relations
- Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
