My client, a forward-thinking, highly-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Graduate Civil Engineer with a focus on Flood Risk and Drainage to join their growing team of specialist design engineers, near the beautiful, Northern city of York.
Essential Criteria:
- A Bachelor’s (or Master’s) Degree in Civil Engineering
- Knowledge of flood risk and drainage strategies, including Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (including S104, S106, etc.)
- Knowledge of InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and other software packages
- The ability to work as part of a team, as well as on your own initiative
- A willingness to learn and consistently develop skills whilst gaining first-hand experience
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Graduate Civil Engineer to have the following:
- Some professional experience, namely in flood risk and drainage
- Working knowledge of a range of additional relevant software packages
- A demonstrable commitment to improving your knowledge and skills in the field
- Excellent time management and communication skills
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be joining a team of expert design engineers, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across the region. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:
- Working on a range of flood risk and drainage strategy projects
- Contributing to the wider team to ensure project goals are delivered to the highest standard, within given timeframes
- Using the relevant software packages to undertake technical analysis
- Preparing and issuing accurate technical information regarding projects, including calculations, drawings, and models
- Liaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
- Contributing to and carrying out site meetings and inspections
- Developing and maintaining client relations
- Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
