My client, an innovative, well-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Graduate Civil Engineer with a focus on Flood Risk and Drainage to join their growing team of engineering and design experts, near the beautiful, industrial city of Sheffield.
Essential Criteria:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Knowledge of flood risk and drainage strategies, including Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (e.g. S104, S106, etc.)
- Knowledge of InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and other software packages
- The ability to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team
- A willingness to learn and consistently develop technical skills through hands-on experience
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Graduate Civil Engineer to possess the following:
- Some professional experience within flood risk and drainage
- Working knowledge of a range of additional relevant software packages
- A demonstrable commitment to improving your knowledge and skills in the field
- Excellent communication and time management skills
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be joining a team of accomplished design engineers, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across the region. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:
- Contributing to a range of flood risk and drainage strategy projects
- Working with the wider team to ensure project goals are delivered to the highest standards
- Undertaking the relevant technical analysis using software packages
- Preparing and issuing accurate technical information regarding projects, including models, drawings, and calculations
- Liaising with a range of public and private clients
- Contributing to and carrying out site meetings and inspections
- Developing and maintaining client relations
- Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed-upon timelines
