Job Title: Architectural Technologist

Salary: £32-40,000 DOE

About the company:

A Kent-based residential housing developer is seeking a self-motivated CAD Technician or Architectural Technologist to join its technical team. The role is suited to an experienced professional with a strong background in UK residential developments, particularly housebuilder schemes, who can produce high-quality technical drawing packages and work collaboratively within an architectural and design environment.

Daily Duties

  • Produce clear, accurate, and detailed technical working drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections, construction details, layouts, schedules, and legal and sales drawings
  • Develop and coordinate 2D technical construction details to a high standard
  • Ensure all drawings comply with current UK Building Regulations and planning requirements
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal design teams, consultants, and third-party suppliers
  • Provide technical support and information to departments and suppliers impacted by drawing packages
  • Maintain and collate technical libraries, standards, product data, certifications, and test information
  • Keep up to date with new technologies, materials, and legislative requirements
  • Attend and contribute to design team meetings, workshops, and site meetings

Ideal Candidate

  • Over several years post-qualification experience within a UK architectural or residential housing environment
  • Proven experience producing working drawing packages for residential housing developments
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and technical drawing production
  • Sound understanding of current UK Building Regulations
  • Construction-related degree or HNC/HND qualification
  • Highly organised, methodical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and confident communicator with strong listening skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
