Arboricultural Consultant – Birmingham
A multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy are looking for a motivated Arboricultural Consultant to join its expanding team near Birmingham! With a strong reputation for delivering expert arboricultural advice and tree-related services across a wide range of sectors, the company is growing to meet increasing client demand.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering arboricultural input into planning and development projects, providing technical advice, producing high-quality reports, and undertaking tree surveys in accordance with BS5837 and other relevant standards. The role offers the opportunity to work on a varied and interesting portfolio of projects, often in collaboration with in-house ecologists and landscape professionals.

Key Responsibilities
-
Carrying out tree surveys for planning and development in line with BS5837
-
Producing Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA), Method Statements (AMS), and Tree Protection Plans

Providing expert advice to clients, planners, and design teams

Supporting tree risk assessments, tree condition surveys, and management plans
-
Using GIS or CAD systems to produce clear and accurate plans and reports

Contributing to multidisciplinary projects with environmental and landscape colleagues
Ideal Candidate Will Have
-
A Level 3 or higher qualification in arboriculture (e.g. ND, FDSc, or higher)

Demonstrable experience in an arboricultural consultancy or similar role
-
Strong understanding of planning policy, tree legislation, and BS5837 guidance
-
Proficiency in tree survey software and mapping (e.g. AutoCAD, QGIS, or ArborCAD)

Excellent communication and report writing skills
-
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work
